Teeth Belaching

Tooth whitening is a popular and conservative method of removing dental stains and whitening teeth. It is believed that teeth bleaching is a result of the oxidation of chromogenic materials by free radicals of the peroxide.

Zoom! Advanced Power's enhanced patent pending formula is clinically proven to whiten 50% of patients to B1 or better when used with the Zoom! Advanced Power Chairside Whitening Lamp. The bleaching time has been shortened to a 45 minute bleaching light time (previously it was an hour)

After

There are two major types of Bleaching Systems:

Natural teeth can be made several shades lighter with two methods. Both are very effective and have the same end result and is very safe.

A . First, is the home bleaching

technique. This requires impressions to make custom mouth guard-like trays to hold a bleaching gel next to your teeth for a few hours each day, or while you sleep. A few days up to a few weeks may be necessary to achieve the desired result. Although time and some inconvenience are inherent with this method, it is less costly.

Bleaching

B. The  1 Hour OR  less, (in Office) Power bleaching

This form of teeth bleaching involves high concentrations of hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. The most common teeth bleaching agent for power bleaching is hydrogen peroxide at concentrations of about 30 to 35%. "important" Due to their caustic nature, these tooth whitening materials have the potential to cause soft tissue injuries, which usually heal uneventfully within 1 to 2 weeks. Therefore this way of teeth bleaching is performed only in the dental office with appropriate protection of the oral soft tissues.

For those who want rapid results. We're proud to offer the newest In-Office Whitening System that can whiten your smile in one visit (just 45 minutes).

We use the ZOOM 2 CHAIRSIDE PROCEDURE KIT TWIN PACK in combination with the NEW ZOOM ADVANCED POWER LIGHT which gives 50% of patients to B1 whitening or better in three 15 minute sessions with an ENHANCED LIGHT ACTIVATED FORMULA of 25% Hydrogen Peroxide Gel.

The ZOOM 2 gel works due to the "photo-fenton" reaction of peroxide and iron. The peroxide component reacts with the iron to produce hydroxyl radicals, a.k.a. "stain terminators." The light reaction cyclically renews the iron, so it continues to produce hydroxyl radicals, significantly enhancing whitening results. In a clinical study, the Zoom Chairside Whitening System whitened teeth 26% better when the Zoom Lamp was used versus whitening with the Zoom 2 Chairside Gel alone. If you've been waiting for the ultimate in speed and efficacy, the wait is over...

Zoom Advanced raises the bar to a new level of performance while delivering an average of eight shades lighter, and sometimes more, in less than an hour. The new Zoom2 system is: Faster - Achieve superior results in three 15-minute sessions. The new system reduces chair-time by 33% with no compromise in results.

More Effective - The proprietary light activated Zoom2 gel incorporates patented Amorphous Calcium Phosphate1 (ACP) technology to provide superior whitening results. Easier - The new Precision Light Guide System ensures quick and consistent patient set-up for optimal whitening results, while the new locking casters and ergonomically designed structure make moving and positioning Zoom2 a snap.

Lower Sensitivity - Reduced contact time, ACP chemistry, combined with the new Balancing Agent and Satin Finish, to ensure the lowest possible discomfort for patients. In fact, Zoom2 patients experience 67% less significant sensitivity than those treated with the original Zoom System.

frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is Zoom! tooth whitening?

A: Zoom! is a bleaching process that lightens discolouration of enamel and dentin.

Q: What causes tooth discolouration?

A: There are many causes. The most common include aging and consumption of staining substances such as coffee, tea, colas, tobacco, red wine, etc. During tooth formation, consumption of tetracycline, certain antibiotics or excessive fluoride may also cause tooth discolouration.

Q: Who may benefit from tooth whitening?

A: Almost Anyone. However, treatments may not be as effective for some as it is for others. Your dental professional can determine if you are a viable candidate for this procedure through a thorough oral exam. Including a shade assessment.

Q: Is whitening safe?

A: Yes. Extensive research and clinical studies indicate that whitening teeth under the supervision of a dentist is safe. As with any tooth whitening product, Zoom! is not recommended for children under 13 years of age or pregnant or lactating women.

How long do the results last?

A: By following some simple post whitening care instructions, your teeth will always be lighter than they were before. To keep your teeth looking their best, we recommend flossing, brushing twice daily, and occasional touch ups with bleaching trays and gel.

Q: How does the Zoom! In-Office system work?

A: The Zoom! light activated whitening gel's active ingredients is hydrogen peroxide. As the Hydrogen Peroxide is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin, bleaching coloured substances while the structure of the tooth is unchanged. The Zoom! light aids in activating the hydrogen peroxide and helps it penetrate the surface of the tooth. A study has shown that use of the Zoom! lamp increases the effectiveness of the Zoom! gel by 26% or more, giving an average improvement of eight shades.

Q: What does a patient experience during the Zoom! In-Office Procedure?

A: During the procedure, patients may comfortably watch television or listen to music. Individuals with a strong gag reflex or anxiety may have difficulty undergoing the entire procedure.

Q: Are there any side effects?

A: Sensitivity during the treatment may occur with some patients. The Zoom! light generates minimal heat which is the usual source of discomfort. On rare occasions, minor tingling sensations are experienced immediately after the procedure, but always dissipate.

How safe is tooth whitening dentistry?

Research over the last five years has proven bleaching to be both safe and effective. The American Dental Association's seal of approval has been given to a wide range of tooth whitening products.

Generally, the only side effect from treatment may be some sensitivity to hot and cold foods. If this occurs, sensitivity normally disappears within 48 hours.
